Music Videos Copyright Infringements

I understand an artist wanting to protect themselves from piracy. I’m all for it in fact.

What I don’t understand is when a 30 second portion of their music video is blocked on certain social media platforms. My thinking is this-if a portion of your music is shared-this helps others to discover your music.

Why is it acceptable to share an entire music video on certain sites but not a portion of the same video on another social media site? This baffles me. It could be the powers that be and the way each site polices such things.

The infringement laws have become downright ridiculous. Everything and I mean everything is under scrutiny as to if it falls under copyright infringement. Protect the artist! By all means. But some of these issues make absolutely no sense. I have a feeling it’s only going to get worse.

Here endeth the rant.
