6. Silver Bullet by Stephen King
It’s not that this is the scariest werewolf movie. In fact the werewolf looks more like a bear/wolf hybrid. I love this movie regardless and I always have.
5. Bad Moon
Mariel Hemingway, Michael Paré and the gorgeous German Shepherd, Primo as Thor.
I love a great scary story. I love a story where a dog ends up the hero. This movie has both.
4. The Wolfman 2010
How can you go wrong with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Benecio del Toro? You can’t!!!
3. The Wolf Man 1941
I adore this movie. It is one of the best old-time horror movies. A great story, intriguing characters. Lon Chaney Jr., Bela Lugosi, Claude Rains, Ralph Bellamy and Maria Ouspenskaya as the fortune teller. What a cast!
2. Underworld
Werewolves and vampires collide in this horror movie. It’s fantabulous! Action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat!
1. Dog Soldiers
A routine training mission goes horribly awry leaving these soldiers fleeing for safety. The werewolves are bad ass, the story is great. One of my favorite scenes is when the soldiers are all sitting around the campfire just exchanging stories. This short scene tells you everything you need to know about each one of these characters.
Honorable mention: American Werewolf in London, Cursed
I’d have given the top spot to An American Werewolf in London.
Dog Soldiers is good, though, and Underworld is a lot of fun.
Oh I love American Werewolf in London. It’s a classic! The werewolves in Dog Soldiers are bad ass! Not that the werewolf in AWIL isn’t. For it’s time it was ahead of the game. No doubt! It set the bar for those to follow.
It did indeed. AWIL set the standard for for pretty much every werewolf film that followed.
Love underworld! I’d also add Twilight, but that’s vampires & werewolves… ❤
Great series also!!
I want to see the one with Jack Nicholson!
Wolf!! Another great one. Can’t go wrong with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer!
