Good morning all! It’s that time again. My theme is the movies. Time for the letter D.
My movie for the letter D is Dead Poets Society. One of my favorite movies starring Robin Williams.
Students at an exclusive all boys preparatory school are introduced to a new teacher, Mr. Keating (Robin Williams). Mr. Keating is not like their other teachers. He is not a conformist but a free-thinker. Something these boys have not experienced. He inspires them and they begin to imagine life doing things their way rather than living and becoming what everyone up to that time has conditioned them to be and become. This is controversial for a school that is steadfast in ancient tradition and known for its high standards.
He taught these young men about freedom. Free to have their own ideas, free to be who they want to be, free to live their life as they choose.
It’s a great movie and Williams is brilliant as Mr. Keating. I must give credit to the entire cast. Brilliant all the way around!
Starring Robin Williams, Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard, Kurtwood Smith
