Money Saving Tips

I want more money for adventures. I started looking closer at my spending. The first savings came when I stopped shopping at large grocery chains. I started getting my groceries from Aldi’s. I save about $200.00 a month on my grocery bill now.

Hmm…what else can I do? I decided to take a closer look at my cable bill. It had gone up significantly in a years time. I did a little research on Hulu. I can get movies galore and even watch television shows. They also have movie channels such as HBO, Cinemax, Stars and Showtime. Guess who took her cable boxes in today and cancelled subscription with exception to WIFI/internet. This girl!

I will be saving $100.00 a month without cable. That’s huge! Hello vacation fund!

One thing I figured out quickly when I got out on my own was to freeze food. It’s impossible to cook small. Nothing comes in single sizes in regards to meat. Plus I am Italian. Cooking small is a foreign concept.

Freezing keeps you from wasting food. Which, let’s face it is throwing away money. Another trick I learned was to use a crockpot to cook a roast. That roast can be used then to create several different meals. Tacos, sandwiches and so on.

There’s endless ways to save. I decided that I had to act if I really want to have more adventures. That’s my priority.

      1. Yup! Thereโ€™s some things I still get at Walmart. Rotisserie chicken, dog food. Aldiโ€™s has almost anything you want but not rotisserie chicken. Scared to give generic dog food to my dog. Plus she is so picky! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. Good for you! Iโ€™ve saved a bunch of money by doing similar things. I thought I might spend some on fun, but it turns out I enjoy the security of knowing itโ€™s there, just in case. Iโ€™ve grown to love peaceful staycation days. Plus, there are things to do in Southern California! ๐Ÿ˜€
