Self Forgiveness

I follow J Raymond on FB and Instagram. I have shared some of his poetry before. I was very moved once again by his work. Always.

Yesterday the topic was about accepting responsibility for ones actions. Today will be about forgiving ones self.

I feel pain in this poem. Someone who is genuinely sorry but unable to forgive their-self.

Sometimes, we will not find the type of forgiveness we seek from someone. Sometimes an act of disrespect or betrayal is like a knife that severs a tie that connects two people. It takes time to accept such a loss. Living with knowing you caused this cannot be easy. But in order to live your best life, you have to find a way to forgive yourself. Learn from it. Then let it grow you.
