Breakfast with my Dad

My dad. What can I say about him? He is an amazing man. He came to the US from Italy as a young boy. But his mother and step father had to get established first before all of the kids could come. The kids stayed in Italy for over a year and a half before being reunited with their mom in the US.

None of the kids knew English. All, regardless of their age were put in the same grade. They were able to advance fast once they learned English. My dad dropped out at a young age to work and help his family. He earned his GED and went into the military. He served in both the Army and the Air Force. He retired after almost 21 years of service and having fought in Vietnam. Does he have stories! From encountering the SS in Italy while he was herding sheep, war, life in the military and his travels.

He worked hard after retiring from the military and earned two degrees while working full-time to support his family. He was my biggest fan in all the sports I participated in. Never missing a game.

I’m very blessed to have him. It’s a good day. πŸ’•
