Be strong!

Be happy.

Don’t cry.


I’m all for encouraging people to focus on the positive. But sometimes people need you to just let them be. Be who they are in that moment. If you put on a happy face to make others comfortable on a consistent basis, then you’re masking what needs to be felt. I understand doing so is a necessity at times. People work through pain in their own ways and in their own time. You should never curl up with pain. But you should never push it down and ignore it either. It always comes back to the surface ten fold.

Feeling sad is okay. It’s natural when hurt to feel this. You have to allow yourself to feel it in order to work through it. It’s messy and not much fun but what comes out on the other side is beautiful. Healing. Be what you need to be when you need to be it. Then get on with it.
